Organizations
Organizations are the primary unit for managing access, usage, and billing in Privatemode.
Why organizations matter
Organizations determine:
- which access keys are available
- how usage is grouped
- which billing settings apply
- which rate limits apply
Rate limits are defined at the organization level.
Create an organization
In the portal:
- Create a new organization
- Select it as your active organization
If you belong to multiple organizations, switch to the correct one before creating keys or checking usage.
Switch organizations
The portal lets you switch organizations from the organization selector. When you switch organizations, the portal updates:
- visible access keys
- usage charts
- billing details
- active plan information
Invite users
You can invite other users to your organization from the portal. Use this when you want teammates to:
- create and manage access keys
- review usage
- manage billing and subscriptions
- use shared organization resources
Before inviting users, make sure you are working in the correct organization.
Single sign-on
Privatemode supports single sign-on via SAML and OIDC for Enterprise tier customers. If you want to enable SSO for your organization, contact support at privatemode.ai/contact-support.
Access and ownership
Access keys are created inside the currently selected organization. Before creating or rotating a key, confirm that the correct organization is active. If your access to an organization changes, your ability to manage that organization's keys and billing also changes.
Best practices
- Use separate organizations for separate teams or environments when billing and reporting should stay isolated
- Confirm the active organization before creating or deleting access keys
- Keep production and experimental usage clearly separated if your workflows require different ownership or budgeting
